The Vegetable Gardens at the Savoy Gardens

More than just a source of obtaining fresh organic produce for our hotel kitchen, the vegetable garden at the Savoy Gardens Hotel is also a small social area for friendly gatherings of employees with our guests.  Located on a plot of land attached at the side of the hotel, every day this kitchen garden is nurtured with "love and care" by the employees and followed with much interest by our guests who, on a journey through senses and recollection of aromas, also accompany actively the growth and development of more than two dozen species of vegetables, fruits and herbs that are cultivated here.
What began as a way of utilising an area that initially had little use for the hotel, has quickly become a meeting place of interest for all.  Naturally, our dedicated Chef, Teresa Barradas, is delighted with the new area.  A great fan of fresh grown produce, she, with her culinary wisdom, uses all these natural products in many of her dishes presented at the nightly buffet displays in the Laurissilva Restaurant as well as in the day time snacks at the Bistro Palmeira.
